Analysis of Helicobacter pylori in Saliva of Patients with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux and Non-Laryngopharyngeal Reflux

BACKGROUND : Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative bacteria known as the causative agent of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric adenocarcinoma, and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma. Several studies have correlated H. in pathogenesis upper airway diseases. can be detected saliva, oropharyngeal aphthae, nasal sinus mucosa, secretions from tympanic cavities, larynx, pharyngeal tissue. The diagnosis LPR made simply by examining saliva.
 AIM aim study to analyze presence H.pylori saliva non patients.
 METHODS This an analytic observational with case control design. research was conducted ENT-KL Department Dr. M. Djamil Hospital, Padang, Indonesia. PCR examination carried out at Biomedical Laboratory Faculty Medicine, Andalas University on samples detect H.Pylori. 22 patients subjects.
 RESULT are more common women than men, which were 12 10 men. average age 43.7 years. 86.4%, while non-LPR group 50%. After being tested using Chi-square test, significant difference found between Pylori incidence (P = 0.010).
 CONCLUSION There increase frequency compared Non after statistical analysis.
